TAP 006 - How to overcome Social Anxiety when Attending Events


In the weeks episode of Anxiety Variety I tell a story of someone I've been working with.  They were anxious about attending a social gathering and I gave them a few tips as to how they could make the evening a success. 

I discuss taking the focus away from ourselves which is very common with Anxiety and using that energy towards serving others.

In this particular episode you will learn:

The 3 key points I discuss are:

1 - Engage with people, start the conversation, make eye contact, give them a hug (I often hug people that were just expecting a hand shake and in most cases they love it) 

2 - Look around and see who isn't getting much attention and give them some.  Hey, how are you? May I get you a drink?  Wanna dance?

3 - Take care of yourself, make sure you're hydrated, engage belly breathing when necessary
